Our minds are libraries. They hold our experiences in broken up moments, out of time and in an order all their own. When I started this piece, I was thinking about the pace of Peter’s heart and mind, the rush of adrenaline when he was recognized as being a friend of Jesus. The sound and speed of flipping magazine pages captured this racing momentum, and in this I saw glimpses of memories, fleeting and incoherent. Peter’s mind in a time of crisis, searching through the commotion, the crowds, the sea, the teachings, the quiet times, the miracles.
